A bubble level measurement system is a low-cost, simple, accurate and reliable method to measure the liquid level

in an open or vented tank.Through a dip tube, the open end of which is situated close to the tank's bottom, a low

but constant flow of air or an inert gas is purged.

A constant stream of bubbles must be released from the dip tube's open end with just enough flow to overcome the

hydrostatic pressure created by the liquid level.

The liquid level in the tank is proportional to the pressure inside the dip tube as long as the flow is constant and

uniterrupted.

An accurate liquid level reading is obtained by detecting the variation in this pressure using a differential pressure

transmitter or a pressure transmitter.

When measuring the level of a contaminated liquids or higher consistency media (such as pulp level pump stand pipes),

a water purge is utlised rather tha air.
